I attended area schools, graduating from Frontenac High School. I also attended Missouri Southern State University Fire Academy and have worked as a career and volunteer firefighter in the area. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Photojournalism and a Master of Arts in Communication from Pittsburg State University. I was a member of Omricon Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and president of Lambda Pi Eta. I have also served as a volunteer soccer coach for the Pittsburg Area YMCA.
